Re-enrolment
Re-enrolment
To avoid a late re-enrolment fee and to ensure you retain your place in the course, you must re-enrol for the entire academic year. Re-enrolment occurs via StudentOnLine.
For assistance re-enrolling in StudentOnLine please read the following guide:
You may also find it helpful to view our instructional videos which are available via the FAQ page, or on YouTube.
Who should re-enrol?
All students who can self manage* are required to re-enrol online via StudentOnLine, including those who:
- anticipate that their academic progress may be unsatisfactory in the current year;
- will complete their course at mid-year June/July (you must re-enrol for Semester 1)
- have approved Leave of Absence concluding at the end of Semester 1 (you must re-enrol for Semester 2)
- who are applying to transfer to another course within La Trobe University (see Course Transfer)
You do not need to re-enrol for the next academic year if you -
- will complete your course at the end of the current year
- are on approved Leave of Absence for all of the current year
*Self-management functionality may not be enabled for all students. For example, students enrolled in Non-Award courses and some double-degree courses will not be able to self-manage their enrolment. Students who cannot self-manage their enrolment must contact their faculty.
Note that:
- Professional doctorate students must contact their course administrator for instructions on how to re-enrol
- Other higher degree by research students do not need to re-enrol
International Students
International students are required to be fully enrolled according to their e-COE at all times. For more information, refer to www.latrobe.edu.au/international/life/compliance
Subject selection
When re-enrolling, it is assumed that you will pass all of your current subjects. If you fail a pre- or co-requisite subject, you will be able to change your enrolment later.
If you need advice on choosing subjects, contact your faculty or check the University Handbook.
Returning from Leave of Absence
Re-enrol for the entire academic year. If you are taking a Leave of Absence in Semester 1, you must enrol in Semester 2 subjects. Your enrolment status will be 'Leave of Absence' until your new subjects start.
Course Transfer
Re-enrol in your current course and then lodge an Application for Course Transfer form with the faculty for your new course. Check submission dates with the faculty for your new course.
Taking a Leave of Absence
If you wish to take an approved Leave of Absence from your course at the end the current year, refer to www.latrobe.edu.au/students/enrolment/intermission
