Queer (GLBTIQ) programs

Counselling Services embraces diversity and welcomes gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer students and staff.
Queer counsellor
We have a Queer Counsellor, who is also a member of the Queer community, on both the Melbourne and Bendigo campuses. Queer counsellors also run group programs for students such as Queer Chat for students who feel isolated by their sexuality and/or are considering coming out (please see group programs on your campus).
Queer Peers program
A Queer Peers program has commenced on the Melbourne campus. Queer peers provide information about Queer supports to fellow students and assist those currently attending Queer Chat who would like to participate in broader GLBTIQ (queer) activities on campus.
ALLY network
Counselling Services is also a member of the La Trobe University ALLY network of staff and students who provide support to Queer students and staff, with a commitment to La Trobe being a respectful and inclusive environment for the Queer community. Find out more on the Ally network website. We have ALLY trained counsellors on our Melbourne, Bendigo, Shepparton and Albury Wodonga campuses.
Queer living
The Identify, diversity and inclusion page on our Living well @ La Trobe website lets you access information and connects you with students and communities who are queer or have questions about their own sexuality and gender.
