The La Trobe Award

  • Do you volunteer in a student club, society, or program on or off campus?

  • Do you want to access free training?

  • Do you want to make an impact on the La Trobe student community?

Then the La Trobe Award is for you!

La Trobe University is offering students the opportunity to access free, high quality training in return for your input into volunteer activities.

This is a pilot program commencing in semester 2, 2009 so places are limited.

On completion of your university degree, you will receive official recognition of your volunteering activities, and skills acquired through the training modules.

You might be part of a student organisation or club, leadership, mentoring or volunteer program on or off campus. Volunteering makes a major contribution to campus culture and the local community- whether you are helping other people, organising social events for students, or part of a club executive, these experiences provide you with great opportunities to develop the skills employers want.

The La Trobe Award aims to:

  1. Enhance the employability of students through high quality training
  2. Recognise the contribution students make to campus life and the local community with an official testamur highlighting their skills and achievements
  3. Enable student clubs and societies to be successful, creative and proactive in order to achieve the groups’ goals
  4. Recognising students for the time they put into their volunteer activities
