Ceremony timetable

Note that the below information is indicative of a typical graduation ceremony - please refer to the graduation instructions you receive via email for any additional instructions.

Morning ceremony (10am)Afternoon ceremony (3pm)Details
8:00am - 9:30am1:00pm - 2:30pmRegister at the Gown Room for your seat number, name card and academic regalia (academic dress).
9:15am2:15pmDoors to the Hall open. Guests should arrive early for best seating options.
9:30am2:30pmGraduands to assemble in the foyer for a briefing.
10:00am3:00pmThe ceremony begins.
11:30am4:30pmAcademic procession and graduands leave the hall and go to the foyer for light refreshments.

Leave handbags and other valuables with your guests during the ceremony.
Arrive early to get your photographs before the ceremony.

Academic regalia

Your academic regalia will be available for collection two hours (8:00am/1:00pm) before the ceremony.
You must return your regalia by 12:15pm/5:15pm.

Car parking

There are various parking options for Ulumbarra Theatre, but the closest off-street parking is located at the Tom Flood Recreation Reserve. Tom Flood car park is accessed via Park Road from Pall Mall.

Accessible car parking is provided for mobility impaired visitors, available on Gaol Access Road and a drop off zone for all Ulumbarra visitors on Gaol Road, at the main entrance to the theatre precinct.

Wheelchair access to Ulumbarra is via a ramp adjacent to the drop off  zone at the main entrance and also via the Chapel Courtyard entrance adjacent to the Ulumbarra CafĂ©.

Special assistance for guests and graduands

The theatre is accessible to people using wheelchairs and walking frames or with problems climbing stairs. Ushers will help you.

Photographers, degree framing and plaques

Available in the Ulumbarra Theatre from 8.30 am or 1.30 pm. They close 30 minutes before the ceremony and open again after the ceremony.

If you cannot attend

You must contact Assessments and Graduations. You will graduate 'in absentia', or you can defer your graduation to a later ceremony. To defer, ask a question up until the day before the ceremony. Please include your name, Student ID and course name in the request.
