Spyware protection and removal
It is recommended that you install and maintain an Anti-Spyware utility to protect from illicit access to your computer.
Spyware are programs that are installed on your computer without your knowledge. They can record your computer activities and send this data to an unknown third party. They also frequently cause problems with logging onto La Trobe University systems.
Below are the links to two free Spyware detection and removal tools:
Different browsers
Most spyware and deceptive software affects only Internet Explorer. Using a different browser may be an effective solution.
Can't log in to LMS (Moodle)?
- Check that your Caps Lock is turned off
- Check your Statement of Account to ensure that you are correctly enrolled in the subject
- Confirm your username and password. These are printed on your Statement of Account. Note that if you change your password on any other University system, this change will be reflected across all systems including the LMS
- Confirm that your lecturer intends you to use this system. Not all subjects use LMS (Moodle) for the delivery of web-based subject materials and even if you have used this system in the past, your lecturer this year may employ other mechanisms.
If you can log in but your subject is not listed
- Check your Statement of Account to ensure that you are correctly enrolled in the subject.
- If you have only recently enrolled in a subject (less than 48 hours) your enrolment may not yet be confirmed in the LMS. Be patient.
- Contact your Faculty Office to confirm your enrolment.
- Contact the Student IT Support.
If you still can't log in
Contact the Student IT Support and be prepared to supply the following information:
- Your Student Number and username (from your Statement of Account)
