System Requirements

What is the LMS?

The LMS is an internet based learning management system which allows you access to learning materials and activities related to your studies from any location with internet access. Further information is available at http://www.latrobe.edu.au/studentlmsinfo/.

What do I need to use LMS

Students will need:

  • a La Trobe University Username and password (printed on your Statement of Account)
  • one or more subjects in the LMS system
  • a computer with internet access.
    • On campus, students can connect to the internet from any computer laboratory, Library and Study Hall. Students who have wireless enabled laptops can connect from any of the wireless access points on the campus.
    • Off campus, students should connect to the internet via a subscription to an Internet Service Provider
  • A supported web browser: IE 7 or 8 are the browsers supported for students by the Study Hall. However, the LMS (Moodle) will also work well in Firefox and Safari.

Web Browsers

Browsers that are compatible with the LMS (Moodle) are:

• * MS Internet Explorer 7 or 8 for PCs.
• * Firefox 3 or later for Macs
• * Safari 3 or later for Macs
• Firefox 3 or later for PCs
• Google Chrome 4 or later
• Opera 9 or later; and
• * = La Trobe University supported
