What is Student Engagement?
Universities across Australia and overseas are recognising the importance of student engagement as the relationship between students and their studies change. As students spend more time off campus- in employment or with family responsibilities - and less time on campus, Universities are seeking new ways to connect students to the learning process and build a sense of citizenship within increasingly diverse student bodies.
La Trobe University’s Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Equity and Student Services has created a division of Student Engagement. This site will help keep you up to date with projects and information relevant to creating a vibrant and positive student experience.
An effective student engagement strategy will ensure that students have the opportunity to become exceptional learners, workers, alumni, citizens and fully engaged members of the university community. Download the Student Engagement Strategic Plan 2009 (PDF 75 KB).
