Joanne Tran

My name is Joanne Tran, some call me sarcastic, but most call me Jo.
The things I love doing the most include; getting lost, baking sweets and reading cheerful facts about our universe. I’m 20 years old, born and bred in the inner west of Melbourne.
I’m in my third and last year studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences at La Trobe , which despite making me feel very old also makes me feel very accomplished.
For the past two years, I have worked hard to gain the marks that will hopefully allow me to study the Master of Speech Pathology through the Graduate Entry Program at La Trobe, and this is the last year before I go for it. I’ll take you on my quest through it all and hopefully you’ll celebrate with me when I reach my goals at the end of the year!
At the end of 2012, I travelled to Cambodia and volunteered at a farmland village surrounding Siem Reap, working with villagers to build infrastructure for a school for the poorest children of the community. Whilst there, I also visited an elephant refuge for displaced, mistreated and unemployed elephants and helped with the rehabilitation program. I couldn’t have done this without the help of La Trobe.
I’ll be showing you the ins and outs of my life at La Trobe, and hope you grow to love it as I have, and even join me one day!
Happy blog-watchin’!
