Professor Minchin is completing a broad study of the decline of manufacturing industries in the United States from 1950 to the present day, funded by the ARC.

Professor Minchin can supervise in most aspects of North American history since the Civil War era, and La Trobe has excellent library resources in North American history. He currently acts as principal supervisor for the following students:
