Electronic Engineering
Eddie Custovic received a B.E. Hons. (Telecommunications) degree at the School Of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences, La Trobe University, Melbourne, and a Masters of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Swinburne University, Melbourne, in 2007 and 2011 respectively. He is currently undertaking a Ph.D (Electronic Engineering/Space Physics) at La Trobe University under Prof. John Devlin and is an associate lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering. His research interests lie in OTH Radars, Remote Sensing, Antenna theory/design and Sustainability Engineering. He is part of the TIGER (Tasman International Geospace Environment Radars).
Eddie is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) where he is currently serving as Vice-Chair and Student Activities Coordinator of the IEEE Victorian Section. Eddie was the prime mover in establishing the IEEE La Trobe University Student Branch which organises a variety of events to benefit engineering students. He is currently the IEEE Victorian Section representative on the Learn, Experience, Access Professions (LEAP) advisory committee where he is also holding the role of LEAP Engineering Project Officer.
Eddie is additionally involved in undergraduate student mentoring and assists students in further developing their communication and leaderships skills. Eddie is actively engaged with regional Victorian secondary colleges to provide additional teaching support through University channels. Eddie has recently launched two exciting programs to further assist University/School collaboration; the Regional Robotics, Automation and Mechatronics Program (RRAMP) and the Renewable Energy, Mobile, Technology & Education Centre (REMTEC).
