At what age did you start seriously training and competing in your sport?

When I was 10 I began training and racing properly, I quickly learned to like the sport, I was multiple state medalist and national medalist by the time I was 14.

What got you started in the sport?

My brother and father both where into the sport, I was a runner before cycling and thought I would give it a go one night, and haven't stopped since.

Are other family members involved in sport?

My brother also rides, he has been on and off for a few years but is a state medallist, my father used to race BMX when he was younger, and also competed in track cycling a few years ago.

Who has been the biggest influence in your sporting career?

Cadel Evens has been, I met him when I was around 14 years old, and talking to him about cycling and its career, then watching him be the first Australian to win the tour de France, it was a great influence and great motivation to follow in his footsteps.

Who has been the biggest influence in your academic life?

I would say the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS), I was only considering going to uni, however the VIS gave me guidance and helped me select the course for me, and taught me how to be a full time athlete and also involve schooling.
