Rock climbing wall
A custom built outdoor climbing wall is available to all.
- The 10 metre high wall is 7.5 metres wide and designed to challenge the climbing enthusiast at all levels.
- The wall provides a comfortable and controlled environment in which to practice, challenge and excel as a climber.
- The state of the art textured wall provides climbers with a variety of ridges, bulges, minor overhangs, cracks and pockets which provides various degrees of difficulties and climbing routes – making it suitable for climbers of all abilities.
New climbers must first complete a safety induction detailing how the belay systems in the centre operate. These must be pre-booked at La Trobe Sports Centre. Once you have been inducted you are ready for casual climbing. Experienced staff are always be on hand to supervise and assist climbers.
Every new climber is required to complete one 30 minute induction. To book, please drop in to La Trobe Sports Centre reception. Maximum of 6 people per session are allowed.

Once you have completed the induction you are ready to climb during our casual climbing hours.

Please ensure you have completed your induction then drop into the Sports Centre reception during casual climbing times, pay your fee and you will be sent out to the wall ready for climbing.
Climbing challenges people to go outside their comfort zone, develops team work, confidence, responsibility and fear management. Rock climbing is also a great workout alternative to traditional strength and endurance exercise.
** To avoid disappointment please try to book at least 2 days prior to your climb
