Swimming

The Swimming Club is a fun way to keep fit and have some fun. Inspired by the lack of La Trobe Swimmers at Uni Games in 2008 and 2009, we came up with a way for swimmers old and new to meet and train at La Trobe.

Whilst no fitness is required, we do prefer that people have some club level swimming experience. As much of our training gears up towards the Uni Games, new members are encouraged to be enthusiastic in their approach to swimming.

Our coaching allows for a wide range of fitness levels. Members currently range from people not having been in the pool for over 10 years to current nationals contenders.

Training

Training is currently held on:

  • Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 7:00 and 8:30 am (team breakfast offered following Thursday session)
  • Friday mornings between 7:30 and 8:30 am.

* We encourage people to try out Wednesday evenings between 8:00 and 9:30 pm for a joint Swimming/WaterPolo session.

All potential swimmers are encouraged to come down to the pool during any training session to meet the squad and see if it's  right for you..
