Legal advice and information
Legal Services, La Trobe University, provides a comprehensive legal service to the University including its regional campuses.
It has a specialized legal knowledge and understanding of a wide range of University activities.
It is important to use the resources of this Office early in any proposal or project where legal assistance may be required in order to protect the interests of the University.
The function of Legal Services is to ensure that the management and staff of the University are sufficiently well advised and informed of legal requirements so as to maximize the quality of decision making within the University.
Resources include:

- PROPOSED University Statutes 2009;
- PROPOSED University Regulations 2009;
- Contracts (including policies and procedures for entering into contracts)
- Copyright and Information Technology
- Trade Practices (articles, compliance and FAQs)
- Other general issues (including privacy and legal structures)
