Teaching
ResearchUndertaking PhD studies. The study explores the extent and influences of a growing mode of employment, that of casualisation on teachers' work and students' learning in TAFE. The focus is on students and staff from two regional and two metropolitan Victorian TAFE institutes. Research provides students and staff with a voice to indicate how recent changes have influenced teachers' work and students' learning. The results of the research are expected to provide clearer policy for the recruitment and professional development of teachers, the professional standing of teachers, and ultimately policy which will make a difference in fostering 'investment' in teaching and learning. It is also hoped that this study will provide greater insight into casualisation and how it generally influences the workplace. Content Approved by: Head of School
