George Myconos is a research fellow for the Centre of Dialogue Project with specific responsibilities to the Education Dialogue Project. The Education Dialogue Project is designed to promote the use of dialogue in order to heighten intercultural awareness within the secondary school setting in Victoria. In the process, this dialogue based approach generates activities and initiatives that enable teachers, support staff, students and parents to deepen their understanding of others and of themselves. ResearchGeorge has researched transnational social movements, labour history, changing forms of global governance, and trends in world trade. His main areas of interest include transnational labour relations, theories of globalization, ideology, and international relations theory. He has taught courses focussing on theories of international relations, international law, Australian and American foreign policy at the University of Melbourne, Monash University, and La Trobe University. He has also played an active role in numerous community campaigns in Melbourne, and is currently active in campaigns in support of asylum seekers.
