ANTHONY ELLIOTT is Professor of Sociology at Flinders University, Australia and Visiting Research Chair at the Open University, UK. His books have been translated into sixteen languages and he has lectured at around a hundred institutions worldwide.
His recent books include Concepts of the Self (2007), The Contemporary Bauman (2007), Making The Cut: How Cosmetic Surgery is Transforming Our Lives (2008), Identity in Question (2009, with Paul du Gay), and The New Individualism: The Emotional Costs of Globalization (2009, with Charles Lemert).
2010 will see the publication of two new books by Professor Elliott: Mobile Lives (with John Urry) and Globalization (with Charles Lemert, Daniel Chaffee and Eric Hsu).
