Research

The Sociology Program contains a very wide range of research interests. The main focus is on Australian society, although there is also a strong interest in globalisation and other parts of the world, particularly southern and eastern Asia. A good deal of research is devoted to the history and development of social theory, but there are also strong interests in substantive issues, including the labour movement, urban development, the family, deviance and social control, health and health delivery, overseas development and many more.
