This publication explores the concept of transformation, as it relates to the ambitious development objectives launched at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015. These seventeen universal and transformative Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are intended to profoundly improve the lives of those living in poverty, as well as address the challenges of environmental degradation and climate change. Working Towards Transformational Development and the Sustainable Development Goals seeks to define more clearly this idea of transformation, using concrete examples of effective community development projects from ABM, ActionAid, Caritas and Oxfam.
