This past twelve months has been an exciting time for us all. We have successfully partnered with many organisations in our community and have begun new projects and continued with our LIFE - Literacy Is For Everyone project.

Mildura Rural City Council Library Service applied for a grant based on our "LIFE" business plan and we are now working with them to implement a literacy collection at each local library which will enhance the literacy levels in our region.

We successfully applied for a HSBC funded project which we implemented at a local primary school, in which the students planned and shopped for a nominated event. The students enjoyed a "hands on learning experience" in which they learnt the value of comparative shopping and budgeting.

Project RED - Reducing Environmental Damage is a new project in which we have partnered with local government and businesses to encourage a sustainable community. We are assisting in the implementation of a permanent public place recycling facility in the Central Business District (CBD) of Mildura.

We are working with the Mildura City Heart by assisting them with their survey data collection in exchange for our travel to Brisbane in July 2008.

SIFE La Trobe are looking forward to hearing of the other SIFE teams' projects and exchanging ideas.

We'd like to thank La Trobe University for their support both in kind and financially.

Welcome to our new Faculty Advisor - Gail Ahearn, thanks for all your support.
