Faculty of Health Sciences, Bendigo
School of Public HealthDepartment Health & EnvironmentGraduate Story
I began my degree in Public health in the year 2001. I have always had an interest in holistic health care and throughout my VCE had hopes of becoming a naturopath. In the final stages of my VCE I changed my mind about naturopathy and looked into health promotion degrees, I didn't know much about it, but from what I had read it sounded interesting. Graduating in 2004 I can honestly say that I loved my three years at La Trobe Bendigo and over the three years developed a passion for public health, particularly rural health. After graduating, I worked at a community health centre in Kerang for twelve months as a project worker and as Freeza coordinator.
