Bicycle safety and security
A new Central Bike Facility on the Bundoora campus is now available for use.
Located just west of the Agora on Stephenson Walk, the $300,000 facility will encourage more staff and students to leave their car at home and commute on two wheels instead.
For further information on how to access the bike sheds go to the TravelSmart website.
Safety tips
- You must wear a helmet at all times when riding a bicycle on campus (as required by the University traffic regulations and Road Safety Act 1986)
- Bicycles are not to be ridden on covered walkways
- Where there is a bicycle and pedestrian shared pathway, the pedestrian always has right of way
- Bicycles are not to be ridden on pathways on University grounds at a speed greater than walking pace.
- Bicycles should utilise the ring roads of the University where possible to reach their destination point and park at the nearest rack.
- Riding under the breezeway of Peribolos East / Peribolos West and the Agora Square is strictly prohibited - this is a high pedestrian traffic area.
