Parking permits - Melbourne campus

All vehicles are required to park within parking bays in designated car parks. You cannot park on the grass or the side of the road.

Note: There are no free car parks on campus. All students and staff must have a valid car park permit or use the daily ticket vending machines.

 

Staff parking (car parks 1-3 and 4-10 and La Trobe Melbourne)

Applications for general permits (white) can be sent by internal mail to the Traffic and Parking office, Ground floor, Peribolos East. Permits will be posted to the internal address as specified on the application.

Student parking (car parks 1-3 and 4-10 and La Trobe Melbourne)

Students receive parking forms and information in their enrolment notice which are then processed through the enrolment centre. Returning students can pay for and collect general permits (white) from the Traffic and Parking office, Ground floor, Peribolos East.

Reserved parking

A limited number of reserved parking spaces are available to staff and students.

  • Red - (car parks 1 & 2)
  • Yellow (car park 8)
  • Blue (car park 1 and 11)

If demand significantly exceeds supply, preference will be given to existing holders of reserved permits. A ballot will be conducted to allocate any in addition to existing permits.

Motorcycle Permits

Motorcycles are required to park in designated motorcycle bays only. Those bays are located in the visitors car park and car park 3. There is no parking fee for motorcycles.

Inner campus parking

All inner campus car parking spaces require either an inner campus parking permit or a time and date specific permit issued from the Gatehouse (Central Control).

Inner campus parking permits are available to senior members of staff.

Daily vending machine tickets

Daily vending machine tickets are valid for the white bays only. The daily vending machine ticket does not entitle you to park in the visitors car park.
