Office of the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor
The Office of the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jane Long, includes a range of portfolios supporting La Trobe University's educational strategy, planning, delivery and quality. The SDVC has responsibility for achievement of a number of targets within La Trobe's Future Ready: Strategic Plan 2013 – 2017, including development of the La Trobe Framework. In 2013, the accompanying Learning and Teaching Plan was released, as a blueprint for innovation and scholarship to benefit student learning.
The University is now preparing to change from a five-Faculty model to a new two-College model from the beginning of 2015. A new Learning Focus Area (LFA) Hub will be the focal point for cross-College innovation in teaching and learning, interdisciplinary curriculum development and pedagogical renewal. All areas of the portfolio will work closely with the new Colleges in strategic, advisory, service and support roles both embedded within the College structures and delivered centrally.
