FINAL DRAFT REPORT
by JOHN GRIERSON
This report, written by John Grierson for the South African Government, is held in the National Archive, Pretoria, South Africa (UOD, E279A), and is published with their permission. It is listed as "Final report," though it is actually a second draft, not signed or dated (1954?). Although a 3rd draft was written, its whereabouts are unknown An incomplete version is also available in John Grierson Archives, Item 9 (G5:6:35)..
As the report is lengthy it has been divided here into a number of subdocuments for ease of loading and of reading on the World Wide Web. Originally, however it was one continuous document. Some aspects of the layout have not been possible to emulate here, but where possible it retains Grierson's original, somewhat quirky numbering scheme, and system of underlining for emphasis. Underlined text indicates a hypertext link only where the colour of the text alters.
A pdf version is available for readers who want a more accurate simulation of the original report.
