Meet our student
Ms Julie Bindokas
Aquatic Research Technician, Murray-Darling Freshwater Research Centre
Course of study:
Bachelor of Biological Sciences (Honours) 2010
I became interested in freshwater ecology while completing a Summer Cadetship at the Murray-Darling Freshwater Research Centre (MDFRC) in Mildura during my degree. I completed an Honours project on Fish-Habitat Associations of the lower Darling River after which I was hired casually as an Aquatic Research Technician. My cadetship and Honours research taught me valuable research and practical skills which I apply every day in my job. I am currently working on a project about the characteristics of deep pools in the Lachlan River in New South Wales, and enjoy working outdoors.
