Faculty scholarships
We offer a wide range of scholarships to commencing and continuing students. They offer support to students facing financial hardship and also recognise outstanding academic achievement.
Many scholarships are employment-linked Industry Supported Scholarships, which provide practical industry experience, useful for professional accreditation, and the opportunity to make invaluable industry contacts.
General Science
Science and Industry Endowment Fund
The Science and Industry Endowment Fund aims to promote the study of science, technology and engineering among those who face social and financial barriers to studying at university. This scholarship is open to students of Indigenous background, or students based in a rural or remote location and from a low socio-economic background.
Dean's Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Ten scholarships are available each year for eligible students commencing in undergraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering.

Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional) Scholarships
Awarded to students in the Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional).
Computer Science and Computer Engineering Departmental Scholarship
This scholarship is available to domestic students with a good academic record in their final year of school, who enrol full-time in any undergraduate degree within the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
Computer Science and Computer Engineering Scholarship for Excellence
This scholarship is available to outstanding students, who enrol full-time in any undergraduate degree within the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
Computer Science and Computer Engineering Scholarship for Outstanding Female Students
This scholarship is available to outstanding female students, who enrol full-time in any undergraduate degree within the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
Computer Science and Computer Engineering Scholarship for Rural and Regional Students
This scholarship is available to students with a rural / regional postcode, who enrol full-time in any undergraduate degree within the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering at the Melbourne or Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.
Dean's Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Ten scholarships are available each year for eligible students commencing in undergraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering.
Electronic Engineering Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to students enrolled in a course offered by the Department of Electronic Engineering. Five Scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be offered.
Hooper Memorial Scholarship
The Hooper Memorial Scholarship is for outstanding students commencing any four or five year engineering course in the Department of Electronic Engineering.
Professor Edgar Smith Scholarship
This scholarship offers a travel award for an extended overseas visit, typically to attend a conference and to work with an expert of international standing in the area of the successful applicant's thesis.
Life Sciences
David Ashton Honours Prize
This scholarship will be awarded to the top-ranked student entering Honours in ecology with the Department of Botany.

Chemistry PhD Scholarships
Scholarships are available each year for commencing PhD students studying Chemistry.

La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science (LIMS) - Regional Scholarship
Support for commencing regional students, enrolling at La Trobe’s Bendigo campus and majoring in a discipline within Molecular Sciences.
LIMS Miller Travelling Fellowship
Assistance for postgraduate students attending national or international conferences at which they are making a presentation.
LIMS Summer Vacation Research Scholarship
Scholarships are available to students to undertake a research project during the summer vacation period in departments associated with the La Trobe Institute of Molecular Science(LIMS).
PhD Scholarship in Physical Chemistry (Laser Spectroscopy/Modeling)
Post Graduate Scholarship in the Department of Chemistry - Physical Chemistry (Laser Spectroscopy/Modelling). This scholarship offers PhD students funding to study on a full time basis for three years.
