Essential Information for Postgraduate Students
As part of your annual progress report, submitted in the middle of the year, you will be asked to sign that you have accessed the University websites listed below and that you are familiar with the contents of these websites. You should ensure that you have accessed your School and Department websites, which may also have important local requirements for postgraduate students.
Students should be aware of what is expected of them in order to be judged as making satisfactory progress. Postgraduate students must ensure that they access this information. Please report any problems in access to the Web Information Officer (email link in page footer).

- Handbook for Candidates and Supervisors (view/download pdf from the "Student & Supervisor links" box) - This contains essential information.
- Guidelines and Policies.
- Codes of ethics for conducting human research or animal research at LTU.
- The Faculty website information pages for students and staff working on research and/or teaching projects requiring Animal or Human Ethics Committee approval.
- The University Commercialisation website - to read the University Intellectual Property (IP) policy, and for other information including lab record keeping (see "resources"), patents, etc., and staff who can help with IP.
- The University Occupational Health & Safety Manual.
- The University Computer Regulations.
- The University Internet Code of Practice.
- Your School and Department websites.
