Overview

Students will discover many facets of ecology during a wetland and woodland wander; including evolutionary history of Australia; indigenous plant use; plant adaptations; symbiotic relationships; and the history of fire in the Australian landscape. They will also have the opportunity to experience ecological survey techniques, like quadrates and transect mapping, wetland assessment and invertebrate sampling to gain an appreciation of methods employed to evaluate ecosystem health.

This program is conducted at La Trobe University's beautiful Melbourne Wildlife Sanctuary located at our Bundoora campus.
