Faculty Scholarships
Dean's Scholarships for Academic Excellence
Description
Ten scholarships (value A$6,000 for one year) are available each year for eligible commencing students in the Faculty, across all La Trobe campuses. The Dean nominates the courses which will attract these scholarships.
Eligibility
To be eligible students must:
- be an Australian citizen; or a New Zealand citizen; or a permanent resident; or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa;
- have completed Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate in the year preceding commencement in the course;
- not have undertaken any previous study at tertiary level, excluding TAFE and extension studies undertaken as part of a Year 12 program;
- be enrolled in one of the courses nominated by the Dean.
Criteria
Selection will be based on academic merit and will take into account:
- ENTER
- School reference
- Awards
- Activities
It is expected that selection will normally be made from applicants whose ENTER or equivalent is at least 90.00.
The Faculty reserves the right not to award any or all of the scholarships available.
You may apply for a scholarship for any of the Faculty's courses, however, preference will be given to the Dean's nominated courses in a particular year across all the La Trobe campuses which teach Faculty courses.
Nominated Courses for 2010
The courses nominated for scholarship applications for 2010 are:- Biological Science (Advanced Science)
- Nanotechnology/Science
- Medicinal Chemistry
- Agricultural Science
- Electronic Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Science (with physical science emphasis, eg. physics, chemistry)
- Science/Science Education (preferred subjects - see degree structure)
