The Science and Engineering Challenge Program

La Trobe University participates in the National Science and Engineering Challenge Program, initiated by the University of Newcastle, and supported by the Australian Government through the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, and Rotary partners.

Each participating School provides a team of between 24 - 32 year 9 or 10 students. The teams divide into eight groups who will each compete in one or two activities during the day. The Challenge is a set of fun activities and competitve events involving principles of science, engineering and technology.

The 2008 Challenge

The Victorian Super Challenge brought together the winning teams from the Bundoora, Bendigo, Geelong, Wangaratta and V.U. Challenges to compete for the right to go through to the National Challenge. This year the Victorian Super Challenge event was again held at La Trobe University, Bundoora Campus, on 25 July 2008. Congratulations to all of the participant schools for making it to the finals.

And the Victorian winners are...

Congratulations to the winners, Scotch College and runners-up, Bendigo East Secondary College (Flora Hill Campus) who will go on to represent Victoria in the Gold and Silver Divisions at the Grand Challenge on the Gold Coast on 15-16 October 2008.
