Master of Wine and Wine Appreciation

About
the course:
We are proud to introduce this exciting new course, unique in Australia, designed to provide linkages across the wine, food, hospitality and literary sectors. The primary aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive knowledge of wine, and its characteristics, spanning traditional and new world areas, and an appreciation of the culture and history of wine.
This course is designed for professionals in wine marketing, hospitality and tourism, wine business management or independent consultancy, or those with regular involvement and keen interest in wine consumption and presentation.
The course will utilise highly respected winemakers and is supported by a Course Advisory Committee which includes a number of luminaries in the Australian Wine Industry.
Objectives:
This suite of courses is designed for those people with appropriate background and/or qualifications
who wish to gain a tertiary qualification recognising their knowledge and understanding of
wine.
Lectures are primarily delivered outside normal working hours to allow students to combine study with full-time employment.
Entry Requirements & Exit Qualifications:
Prospective enrollees will possess an undergraduate degree or have demonstrated significant interest in the wine and/or food industries documented in a CV, including testaments from two (2) professional referees. This personal information should accompany the initial application. Final acceptance may require an interview.
GRADUATE CERTIFICATE OF WINE AND WINE APPRECIATION (GCWWA)
Students wishing to leave the course after successfully completing the first year of part-time
study as set out in the course structure will be awarded the Graduate Certificate of Wine
and Wine Appreciation.
GRADUATE DIPLOMA OF WINE AND WINE APPRECIATION (GDWWA)
Students wishing to leave the course after successfully completing the first two years of part-time
study, or one year of full-time study, as set out in the course structure, will be awarded
the Graduate Diploma of Wine and Wine Appreciation.
MASTER OF WINE AND WINE APPRECIATION (MWWA)
This award will be conferred after successful completion of all units in this course over three
years part-time, or two years full-time achieving a total of 240 points of approved study.
