What do we offer?

There are two twelve-week bridging programs available in each of chemistry and mathematics. They are based on the Victorian Year 12 curriculum considered suitable preparation for entry into selected science courses here at La Trobe University.

Who are they for?

These courses are suitable for people returning to study to either refresh prior knowledge or to obtain suitable prerequisites for selection into specific courses. Students completing the NMIT Certificate IV in Bridging Science will also benefit from completing the second part of the mathematics bridging program.

These courses are NOT available to current year 12 VCE (or equivalent) students to use as substitutes for year 12 prerequisites.

When do they run?

The courses now commence in the week beginning 27 October 2008 with a break over Christmas, recommencing in the week beginning 5 January 2009.

Chemistry: Mondays and Wednesdays: 6.00 - 9.00 pm
Mathematics: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 6.00 - 9.00 pm

These courses can only run if sufficient enrolments are received.

How much do they cost?

The courses are self-funding and the full cost for each course is $575. There are some special categories of applicants for the mathematics program that are exempt and who are covered by Commonwealth funding support. Complete cost information is on the application form.

Where are they held?

The classes will be held on the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus. Specific venue information is provided in the application material. A map of the campus can be downloaded from Campus Maps.
