In2science Peer Mentoring Program
In2nanotech Outreach Program
In2science initiated the In2nanotech outreach program to offer a Mentoring-type activity to schools in more regional areas.
With funding for three years from Nanotechnology Victoria this program aims to visit a different regional area each year to run nanotechnology workshops for Y9 and Y10 students studying science.
The visits involve a 2hr activity session of workshops and presentations, introducing students to the concept of nanotechnology and its growing aray of applications. Visits take place in November each year to a different regional area.
Each
round of visits is followed up with an interschool challenge where each school visited puts together a team of students to investigate an aspect of nanotechnology. Presentation of their findings takes place at a judging event at the end of Term one of the year. Online support is offered by the Mentors and university staff during Term one.
