Brief profile
- Jennifer's research interests are: - Micropalaeontology - Development of the concept of energy in physics from mid 19th C (Helmholtz)
- Jennifer has written a book, "Energy, the Subtle Concept: The discovery of Feynman's blocks from Leibniz to Einstein" to be published by the Oxford University Press, July 2010, http://ukcatalogue.oup.com/product/9780199546503.do The book seeks to explain the concept of energy, at a semi-popular level, by examining the history of its emergence in physics. It is aimed at historians and philosophers of science as well as at physicists and other scientists.
- She is a tutor at Swinburne University of Technology on their astronomy-online course, marking projects on measuring the gravitational constant, G, and on the asymmetry between matter and antimatter in the universe.
- She is currently working on a book in popular science/philosophy of science entitled "Yes, we really know something: and other essays".
