Brief Profile
Has held previous academic appointments at the Universities of Adelaide, Papua New Guinea, Western Sydney (Hawkesbury), La Trobe and Vudal (PNG). Senior Visiting Scientist positions at The Universities of Wisconsin and Mataram (Indonesia), International Centre for Tropical Agriculture, Asian Vegetable and Development Centre (Taiwan),and International Horticultural Research (UK). Joined School of Agriculture at La Trobe University in 1980. Appointed Reader and Associate Professor in Agriculture (Plant Protection) in 1989. Consultant and short term advisor on Plant Protection projects in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Team Leader, Integrated Agriculture Training Program (AusAID), 2001-2004. Supervised over 30 postgraduate students for higher degrees (Master's and Ph.D's) and published >150 papers in international refereed journals and books. Appointed Foundation Professor and Head,Department of Agriculture,University of Vudal,Papua New Guinea (2001-2004).
