Brief profile
Dr Mitchell's research focuses on the use of genetic markers to understand human populations. In particular we study variation on the Y chromosome and mitochondrial DNA to understand human evolution and population structure; forensic genetics, especially expanding the usefulness of DNA markers; molecular and population genetic studies of the tasting response.
