Brief Profile
My present research interests involve the study and application of membranes for separation of metals particularly in hydrometallurgy. Many solvent extraction reagents used commercially for extracting metals from solutions obtained after dissolution of minerals can be immobilized into polymer membranes and the membranes can be used to concentrate particular metals. This technology avoids the use of the large volumes of organic solvents needed in conventional solvent extraction.
