Brief Profile

Dr Halloran is the Head of Section at the Albury-Wodonga campus, School of Psychological Science, La Trobe University. His role as Head of Section is, in consultation with the Head of School and academic staff in the School of Psychological Science, to ensure that objectives of the School are met. Our objectives in Psychology at Albury-Wodonga are to conduct internationally recognized research, provide quality undergraduate and postgraduate training in Psychology, engage the School in the wider University and local communities, and develop a strong culture of research and learning.

He collaborates with a number of international researchers and has a range of research projects that involve my postgraduate students. He is also the Coordinator of PSY3SCB, Social and Community Psychology, and contributes lectures in our Honours Program.   Dr Halloran’s own research is about developing and applying knowledge from Social Psychology to understanding of intergroup relations, social identity, cultural maintenance and change, attitude change, existential anxiety and Indigenous issues.   While life in the School of Psychology moves along at a rapid pace, he enjoys the opportunity to contribute to knowledge about human behaviour, foster the academic successes of La Trobe Psychology students, and discuss the state of world over a good coffee.
