Jim Thomas

International conservationist

Jim Thomas is the Director of the Tenkile Conservation Alliance (TCA) in Papua New Guinea, which is working to save two endangered tree kangaroo species in the Torricelli Mountain Range.

Jim completed a Bachelor of Science (Botany, Zoology) in 1995. He worked at Zoos Victoria for nine years and has experience working with many endangered species. Jim has been with the TCA since January 2003.

His work involves monitoring and researching tree kangaroos and meeting with locals in Papua New Guinea to negotiate conservation projects, which have included establishing chicken and rabbit farms and tree kangaroo enclosures.
