Daley Bear
Bachelor of Teaching
Daley completed Year-12 in Coffs Harbour in 2009 and moved down to Melbourne and enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (Wildlife and Conservation Biology) at La Trobe. However, after completing the first year of the course Daley realised that he was not as passionate about wildlife and conservation as he thought he’d be.
After some reflection, Daley realised that helping others achieve gave him the most satisfaction so he decided to transfer into a Bachelor of Teaching. While he did not take the most direct route into the course that best suited him, by not ignoring his interests Daley found a pathway into it.
Daley’s Top Tip
It can be a bit daunting changing courses but if your interests lie elsewhere you soon realise that it’s the best decision. Just think of it like this – if you don’t enjoy studying something are you really going to enjoy a career in it?
