What ATAR will I need?
The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) (or UAC for New South Wales students) calculates a rank for all students who complete the VCE (HSC), known as the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
The ATAR is to be adopted by all other Australian states and territories (except Queensland) by 2012.
If you finish Year 12 interstate before your state adopts the ATAR, VTAC will calculate an equivalent rank for you.
Use our ATAR Wizard search as a guide to the courses your ATAR may get you into, or use the links below to see Clearly-in ATARs/ENTERs for La Trobe courses over the past three years. Clearly-in ATARs usually change each year, but these tables will give you a rough guide to recent La Trobe entry standards. Please note you also need the specified prerequisites for your chosen course in order to be eligible for a place; you can search for these using the La Trobe University ATAR Wizard.
- Arts, Social Science and Education
- Business, Sport, Tourism and Hospitality
- Computing and Engineering
- Health Sciences
- Law and Legal Studies
- Sciences and Psychology
Some La Trobe courses offer guaranteed entry on the basis of a specific ATAR (subject to prerequisites). Bookmark this page for updates on guaranteed entry in 2012.
- RC = individually offered (offer based on a range of criteria – a folio presentation and interview, for example).
- n/a = not applicable, number of offers may be less than 10.
- Additional factors are considered for applicants in the middle band. See the VTAC Guide for more details.
- The minimum ATAR for entry into La Trobe is 50 (other than in exceptional circumstances). However, competition for limited places means Clearly-in ranks are often much higher.
