Brief profile

 Sean has always worked in the outdoors; as Teacher and freelancer in Outdoor Education in secondary schools around Australia; as Director of the Mittigundi Outdoor Education Centre; and as a Ski Guide in New Zealand, Japan and Canada.  He is an accredited Sea Kayak, White Water Kayak and Cross Country Ski instructor with qualifications in Wilderness and Remote area First Aid, Swift Water Rescue and Avalanche Safety Management. 

With over 3000 days experience leading skiing, bushwalking, white water paddling, surfing, sea kayaking and canoeing groups, Sean has a wealth of experience and examples to draw on in his work as a Lecturer in Outdoor Education at La Trobe Bendigo. Sean's research interests follow his teaching areas of safety in outdoor environments, leadership judgement and outcomes of longer journey based outdoor programs.

In his own time, Sean travels extensively in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, USA and Canada skiing, paddling and sea kayaking to keep abreast of current practice and refresh his skills and passion for the outdoors.
