Bendigo Campus Arts Staff Award

This award to made each year to a student who has successfully completed the third year of the Bachelor of Arts course at the Bendigo or Shepparton Campus. It is based on academic merit.

Brown Baldwin Award

Awarded to the student with the highest average result in Corporate Reporting, Introductory Management and Intermediate Management Units.

City of Greater Shepparton Award

Awarded to the student with the highest individual mark in a second or third-year marketing unit in an undergraduate or postgraduate course.

City of Greater Shepparton Prize

Prizes are available to full-time first year students enrolling in Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce ($700) with highest ATAR. The Regional Nursing Scholarship ($250) is awarded to a commencing student in the Bachelor of Nursing.

City of Greater Shepparton Prize - Graduate Diploma in Education

Full-time first year enrolling student entering the Graduate Diploma in Education with highest grade point average.

City of Greater Shepparton Prize – Bachelor of Arts

Awarded to a full-time first year enrolling student entering the Bachelor of Arts with the highest Enter score.

CPA Australia Awards

Awarded annually to the best first-year, second-year and third-year student respectively in accounting subjects in the School of Business

David Hume First-Year Philosophy Prize

Awarded each year to the student who is placed first among all students enrolled in a first-year philosophy subject, provided the work is of A-level standard. The prize will be shared in the case of A-level students placed equal first.

David Hume Honours Year Philosophy Prize

Awarded each year to the student placed first (or shared between students placed equal first) among eligible students completing their fourth year (honours) in philosophy, provided the student (or students) is (are) awarded a first-class honours for that year. Eligible students are those who take no more than one course component (out of three) from outside those offered as fourth-year philosophy subjects.

Dean’s Medal

A Dean's Medal for Academic Excellence will be awarded annually to the highest achieving Undergraduate and Postgraduate student studying in their final year before graduating at each of the Faculty campuses. The Dean's Medal for Academic Excellence is a certificate and a medallion in a presentation box.

Derick Marsh Shakespeare Prize

Awarded annually for the best essay written by an undergraduate student in English on a topic concerned with an aspect of Shakespeare’s work.

Elsevier Undergraduate Achievement Award

Awarded to a nursing student on the basis of an outstanding book review.

Environmental Culture and Sustainability Post-Graduate Research Program

This scholarship is open students from any area of the humanities or social sciences who want to focus their postgraduate research on environmental or sustainability topics or who want to bring an environmental or sustainability perspective on theoretical issues within the humanities or social sciences. Environmental history, environmental anthropology, ecocriticism, environmental sociology and political science, cultural studies of the environment, philosophy of nature and history of ideas, environmental aesthetics as well as environmental ethics and ecological philosophy will all fall within the scope of the scholarship.

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Scholarships

Ten academic merit scholarships will be awarded to students completing their VCE. Any student enrolled in the first year of any one of the Faculty’s bachelor degrees is eligible to apply for a scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded to the 10 students with the highest ENTER scores.

Geoffrey John Blunden Prize in Philosophy

Awarded annually for the best essay by an undergraduate student on a topic concerned with the welfare of non-human animals.

Greater Shepparton Business Centre Encouragement Award

Awarded to a student with distinguished achievement in the area of marketing.

La Trobe University/Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens

La Trobe University is offering a scholarship, in association with the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens (AAIA) to enable a postgraduate student to travel to Greece to undertake academic research. The scholarship is open to postgraduate students currently enrolled at La Trobe University. It is primarily intended for archaeological research but students from fields such as Ancient History, Art History, Classical Literature, Material Culture Studies and Heritage Management are also encouraged to apply.

Marta Rado Memorial Prize

This award is donated by former colleagues, relatives and friends in memory of Dr Marta Rado who, as an early pioneer of communicative language teaching and bilingual education, was responsible for the rise to prominence of language teacher education at La Trobe University. The prize is awarded annually to a student in the primary or secondary LOTE method in the Graduate Diploma in Education, who is most likely to further the cause of LOTE education in Victoria through innovative and dynamic teaching.

Meridian Prize

Awarded annually by Meridian: The La Trobe University English Review and the English Program for the best fourth-year long essay submitted by a completing honours student in English.

Post Graduate Education Scholarship

For a 2009 commencing postgraduate student in the Graduate Diploma in Education (Middle Years) on the Shepparton Campus. The scholarship recognises academic merit, an interest and commitment to entering the teaching profession as well as a commitment to community service.

Rene Descartes Prize

Awarded each year to the student enrolled in second-year philosophy who has completed at least two subjects in the same year at an A-level standard and who has the best results.

Soroptimist International of Shepparton Inc. Regional Education Scholarship

Awarded to a commencing student in the Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary). The scholarship provides reimbursement for study-related expenses.

Soroptimist international of Shepparton Inc. Regional Education Scholarship

Awarded to a commencing student in the Graduate Diploma in Education (Middle Years). The scholarship provides reimbursement for study related expenses.

Soroptimist International of Shepparton Inc. Regional Nursing Scholarship

Awarded to a second year student in the Bachelor of Nursing. The scholarship provides reimbursement for study-related expenses.

Stewart E Fraser Memorial Exemplary Thesis Award

Awarded for the best major thesis written by a masters or doctoral level candidate in the Faculty of Education.

Stubbs Wallace and Partners Award

Awarded to a student with outstanding achievement in second-year accounting.

The Carrington Award

Awarded to the best business student at Shepparton Campus, at any year level.

The English First Year Prize

Awarded to the student who has the highest aggregate result in two first year English subjects taken in one year.

The English Honours Year

Awarded to the student who has completed fourth year hours in English with the highest mark.

The Jane Austen Prize

Awarded to the student who has written the best essay or long essay on Jane Austen’s novels.

Wirrianda Philosophy Prize

Awarded annually to a female student enrolled at fourth-year level in honours philosophy (or joint honours philosophy) who has completed her Bachelor of Arts at La Trobe in the prior year and has, of the female students so qualifying, the best results in third-year philosophy subjects.
