North-Vic Construction/La Trobe University Scholarship Program
The North-Vic Construction Scholarship Program has been established to provide support for the completion of a tertiary qualification of future professional civil engineering staff. It is available to full-time students commencing the Bachelor of Civil Engineering course, or one of the Engineering double degree courses, at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.
Their core business consists of predetermined municipal and government tenders, with sub-contracted road-works and ancillary works. The company now provides a complete package including design and construct, low maintenance structures, prefabricated construction and construction in environmentally sensitive areas. North-Vic Construction operate a large skilled work force from their manufacturing plant located in Kilmore Victoria.
Benefits
- financial support in the form of a $5,000 scholarship per year for the duration of the course
- fully-paid vacation work experience during each year of the course ($6000 per year, approximate)

Eligibility, terms and conditions
Applicants must:
- be a full-time student in an undergraduate Civil Engineering course at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University
- have a strong academic background
- not hold any other Civil Engineering scholarship.
The work experience placements and graduate positions would favour the suitability for working from the Kilmore (Vic) head office, and scholarship holders will need to exercise flexibility in moving to this location.
The Scholarship is tenable for the normal length of the course, subject to satisfactory academic performance and an annual interview. The successful applicant is committed to North-Vic Constructions Pty Ltd for a period equivalent to the scholarship support period from completion of their full time studies up to a period of two years.

- arrange for completion of the Reference section by your Principal, Teacher, or Year 12 Coordinator (as appropriate for the type of scholarship)
- attach a complete list of subject grades to date from Years 11 and 12
- demonstrate why you are interested in the Scholarship, detailing your career goals
- submit a resume with your application, and
- submit completed Application Form by 6 December 2012.
Applicants must meet the selection criteria. The selection of the successful applicant will be determined through an application and interview process by a panel of Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water and La Trobe University staff based upon the scholarship criteria.
