La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science (LIMS) - Regional Scholarship

Support for commencing regional students, enrolling at La Trobe’s Bendigo campus and majoring in a discipline within Molecular Sciences.

The LIMS Regional Scholarship has been established to provide five scholarships to commencing first degree students at Bendigo. These are available for any of the Faculty's courses that offer a major in a discipline within LIMS - biochemistry, chemistry, genetics, pharmacy, plant biology, physiology, physics or molecular archaeology.

Benefits

  • financial support of $1500 in the form of a book credit to pay for texts or lap-top computer during the course of study
  • visits to the construction of the new LIMS building, and meetings with some of the world’s best research scientists in the area of molecular science.

Eligibility, terms and conditions

Applicants must

  • be an Australian citizen; or a New Zealand citizen; or a permanent resident; or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • have completed Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate in the year preceding commencement in the course
  • not have undertaken any previous study at tertiary level, excluding TAFE and extension studies undertaken as part of a Year 12 program
  • be enrolled in first year as a full-time student in a course offering a major listed above, within the School of Molecular Sciences at La Trobe's Bendigo campus
  • have a regional postcode.

Appliants must meet the listed criteria, eligibility terms and conditions. Selection will be based on academic merit and will take into account the criteria. The Faculty reserves the right not to award any or all of the scholarships available.
