Each year the Faculty aims to award International Academic Excellence Scholarships, Honours Scholarships, Dean's Medals and Commendation certificates for various programs in recognition of outstanding academic achievement, in addition to the various School prizes listed below. Students do not lodge an application; the Schools determine awards based on outstanding academic performance and recipients are notified.
Australian Government Producativity Commission ($350)
Awarded to the student achieving the highest mark in the unit Microeconomics.
The Corrs Prize
The Corrs Prize is an essay competition designed to explore the important legal issues facing Australian business today. The competition has been established to encourage and recognise outstanding thinking by postgraduate and undergraduate students in topical areas where the law and business intersect.
CCH Australia Prize for Excellence in Taxation ($200 book voucher)
Awarded to the student achieving the highest mark in the third-year unit, Taxation.
CPA Australia Prizes
Awarded to students who achieve the best results in accounting units at first, second and third-year levels. First-year level prize is $100; second-year level prize is $200; third-year prize is $300 plus enrolment into the first segment of CPA Program.
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Prize for Forensic Accounting
$200 Prize awarded to the student achieving the highest mark in the unit, Forensic Accounting.

1 Awarded to the student with the best result in Microeconomic Analysis
2 Awarded to the student with the best result in Corporate Finance
Department of Finance and Administration (Federal Government) ($500)
Awarded to the student with the best result in Finance (FIN2FIN)
Donald Whitehead Prize for Macroeconomics ($200 book prize)
Awarded to the student achieving the best result in the unit, Macroeconomic Analysis.
Economic Society of Australia Prize ($200 prize & one year membership of the Society)
Awarded to the best third-year Bachelor of Economics student.
FINSIA (Formerly Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance) Prize in financial Institutions Management ($250 & certificate)
Awarded to the student achieving the best result in in the unit, Financial Institutions Management.
Jack Just Memorial Award (Taxpayers Australia Inc.) ($500 and certificate)
Awarded to the best final-year student in taxation studies.
John Wiley & Sons Australia Ltd Prize ($150 book prize)
Awarded to the student achieving the highest mark in the unit, Business Applications Analysis and Design.
Pearson Education Australia Prizes ($150 book voucher & certificate)
Awarded to students who achieve the highest mark in the units, Management Accounting , Marketing Research, Marketing Principles and Practice, and Services Marketing.
Victorian Government Department of Treasury and Finance (State) ($400)
Awarded to the student with the best result in Macroeconomic Theory.
Westpac Banking Corporation Prize ($300)
Awarded to the student achieving the highest mark in the unit, Intermediate Management Accounting .
Honours Scholarships
A range of scholarships will be available for students undertaking Honours at La Trobe in 2009. The scholarships will be awarded to the top students (both local and overseas) completing the final year of their undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Economics and Finance in 2008 and proceeding to the Honours program in 2009.
