Congratulations to La Trobe University's Southern University Games Teams

La Trobe University achieved some fantastic team results in this years Southern University Games which were recently held in Melbourne. A total of thirteen Universities from Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania gather to compete in ten sports and La Trobe University finished 4th overall. Teams are now in training for the Australian University Games being held on the Gold Coast in late September.

La Trobe University is a member of the national body ... known as AUS (Australian University Sport) ... which organises National and International University Sports Championships. Only currently enrolled La Trobe Univesity students may compete in these Championships.

 


National Events

More than 50 university campuses, representing over 600,000 students and 37 Australian universities, compete in over 40 national sports and events.

AUG:

The annual AUG (Australian University Games) consists of about 25 sports which are contested in the September break each year.

Individual Championships:

More than 15 individual Australian University Championships (AUC's) are contested at different locations throughout the year.

 

 

 


Regional Events

The Southern region of AUS is known as "AUS south".

Victorian, Tasmanian, and South Australian Universities compete in championships hosted in the southern region.

These include the SUG (Southern University Games) and various individual AUS south Championships.

 

 

 


International Events

AUS selects students to represent Australia in the World University Games and Individual World Championship events.
