School Sports Programs

The La Trobe University Sports Centre has established, in conjunction with local Physical Educators, a diverse range of programs tailored to suit a school’s individual curriculum needs.

With our extensive range of facilities, we are able to offer both wet and dry programs, in either indoor or outdoor settings, such as ...

  • School swimming carnival
  • Sports day
  • Victorian Water Safety Certificate - an educational aquatic program that improves a student’s water awareness, survival, rescue and swimming ability. This award is recognised by the Victorian Aquatic Council.
  • Activity day - to start, or end, the academic year. This includes a full day, or half day, of fun and adventure in a controlled environment and can accommodate any number of students. The activities can be a combination of aquatic and/or dry activities which are modified to suit the abilities of the students.
  • Tennis, Basketball, Squash and Table-tennis - tailored to introduce students to the basics of a sport.
  • Group Exercise or Martial Arts classes.
  • Supervised Gym-based sessions.
  • Outdoor education - we can provide students with the basic skills required to participate in the adventure activities of Rock Climbing, Kayaking and Snorkeling.

Our programs are tailor-made to suit the specific requirements of each individual group. We structure wet and dry, indoor and outdoor activities ... they can be recreational, educational or competitive.

Participants are able to develop many sports-specific skills in a fun and safe environment.

    Break-up Parties

Our ‘End of Season Break-up Parties’ have been created for members of junior sporting clubs, aged seven to fourteen.

The parties are an excellent team bonding, action-packed event, or simply a great way of bringing the season to an end. Teams will engage in activities such as rock climbing, kayaking and snorkeling in a competitive and controlled environment.

All the activity leaders and food are provided, ensuring a hassle-free break-up party for team staff.

Sessions are available through the week and on weekends.

For further information, or to make a booking, please email Brian Razbocan or phone him at the Sports Centre on (03) 9479 2973.
