Round 2
Reserves
Its official rude head is engaged, but boys I still wouldn't drop the soap in the shower.
This week we lost a few to the seniors but welcomed in Steeley, Brooksey, Ahmad, Skelts, Cooper, Luke, Moorey, Andrew and Sauce Head. Once again the head strolled out with those terrible shorts and we started well, kicking the first 2 goals. A broken ankle to Gaylard early in the first term saw us down to 3 on the bench. Things didn't go well from there, with UHS-VU kicking 4 goals ahead at half time also loosing Coops in the 2nd to a Knee. Even with a questionable Nazi goal early in the 3rd UHS-VU proved a better team on the day ending up 20 11 131 to our 9 7 61. Best Steeley, Moorey, Skelts, Ahmad, Dillon and Lachie.
Next week will we see Graeme Parr make his return????
Seniors
Injury is again the word of the week, on or off the field or even off a balcony after sheds. Out this week was the Better Conheady (shoulder), Joey Mclean (ankle), Jason (cut lip), Mitch (Heart Muscle), Patty (Unknown) and Lube (Broken Finger). Congratulations on their senior debuts for Trent, Agro, Jack and Westaway. Also a late pick up, like that ranger he picked up the night before was Puss.
It was always going to be a tough game against last years D4 premiers. Injuries and late withdrawals made it even tougher. We managed to run with them in the first term, down a goal at quarter time and also down another player with Adam Sheriff concussed and still probably thinking we won.
The 2nd started off badly, loosing our Vice Captain early in the quarter with a hammy. This made it tough to fill both full back and centre half back and as a result UHS-VU kicked ahead 9 goals at the main break.
In the last half we managed to put some pressure on. With Rossi kicking 2 majors, Glesso kicking his 10th for the season and Stinga kicking a beauty from the centre. Injuries again worked against us this week, loosing Harvey 'the choker' Biggs in the 3rd, Gus and Quatta also struggling in the last half. We ended up going down by 19 19 133 to 9 4 58.
Best: Rossi, Lachlan, Van Oi, Stordo, Gough and Quatta

Reserves
4.5-29 Latrobe University def. by 24.19-163 ELTHAM
Well it had been a fairly typical La-Trobe Pre season but perhaps with a different edge this year adopting a similar drafting style as Collingwood i.e. drafting the 2 older Cloke brothers and once securing the youngest and most talented giving the older ones the flick. But in our case it was drafting Dom and Joey and consequently giving Dom the boot.
Lining up against the Turtles in the reserves last Saturday we saw plenty of new faces and welcomed the return of some of the reserves veterans with the likes JD and Rude giving the fans some familiar heads on the park.
During the match we saw some familiar sights such as Gary Gum Rooter throwing up thinking about what he woke up next to earlier that morning and one Rude Head Donovan doing all he could to avoid the slightest of body contact against Grahame Parr like sized kids.
But we also saw some new styles enter the field or in JD's case an attempt to show Warrick Capper who had the tightest shorts. We also witnessed the entry of another Hook known as 'The Kid' we just hoped that his footy skills were a lot better than his skulling, especially now that we are playing against Men not Girls.
At the start of the game the reserves made a bet with big Brenton Hunt that they could kick more goals than he could eat hot dogs, but unfortunately The Big Meat Axe came out on top. He downed 6 hotdogs to the reserves 4 goals.
But in a hard first game playing against last years D4 reserves premiers the reserves did provide us with the positives to come out on with Gus in good form earning him a best on. Also some new faces stood up with Trent and the (red head who played under grahaeme parr) getting in the best.
